The first is a continuation of Phan’s Dino Phan series: sculptural assemblages incorporating everyday, often domestic, objects built around Ikea toy dinosaurs. In this iteration, the identical dinosaurs wear clown-like pom-poms on their noses and are mounted on individual rolling wooden boards. Long sticks fastened vertically to the boards evoke tall grass or prison bars.
The second room simulates a cityscape: canvases in various sizes, painted in dark shimmering colors, mimic an abstracted skyline. A naively rendered stick figure wanders aimlessly among the towering facades. As disoriented as enchanted, it navigates a world saturated with images, choices, and expectations.

“The ‘mix of underwhelming, minimum effort stands for something really interesting to me. […] It’s always adding or taking away and very much intuitive […] the incidental is kind of th ne opposite of produced or perfect’.”
